Car Plates.

Having a battle at the moment getting the plates approved for our new car. 

Now, when I ordered the plates, no problem, PPQ (Personal Plates Queensland) took my money.  All sweet I thought but alas I received the call a few days later where a concerned exec stated in no uncertain terms that the plate was flagged as "distasteful". 

"Really I asked" How? 

"Well Mr. Ayala, it is self evident" 

"Sorry, I am missing something, How?" I responded. 

"I shouldn't have to explain" was the reply. 

"We trade a product in that name" I responded. 

"We find that hard to believe" was the reply. 

" Good lady, I will send you the details and request a review of your concerns". 

" We looked forward to you submitting further information and we will review". 

I am not holding my breath......but am giving it a serious crack.

Plates were a hot topic here for a while. At the end of the day, my opinion is that if you’re worried about 1 or 2 complaints then don’t allow custom plates at all. Otherwise just effin mind your own business and don’t worry about what my car has written on the back.

A well-known sports reporter in California tried to get his last name as a plate for years, unfortunately his name is Peter Schmuck. He never got the plate.

my fave was one for when we had three letters followed by two numbers. this bloke got an E and then an I and then another E and finally the number ten. 

this bloke was a city worker but he did have a hobby farm. a bloke by the name of McDonald. not making it up.

I've had a few vanity plates and they were all wine related. We are limited to 6 characters in MA.

My plate is wine related. It is "Viertele" and it means in swabia, Germany where I come from a quarter of liter of wine.
