Prestwich (in Manchester UK) just down the road from me is the UK's second largest Jewish Community. It was terrible as a standard to see that they would have guards at their schools. Over recent weeks, those guards have become armed, which is terrible to see.

I would like you to know @BrightonCorgi there is huge support & sympathy for the vast majority of Israeli citizens who just want peace, just as the vast majority of Palestinians who just want peace.

The people whom I speak to do not have an antisemitic bone in their body, They believe in Israels right to defend itself. They want the return of the hostages, They believe in the removal of Hamas, but I'm afraid they also belief in the removal of those running the current Israeli government. What is happening currently is awful, but more importantly it will only be successful in creating more division. I don't have the answers, but I know this it doesn't look like this

The media, and world in general seems to want everyone to pick a side which I think is hugely corrosive. The only side I pick, is the majority, the peaceful citizens of Israel and Palestine who just want this to stop, and want different people in charge, across the board.

I will finish by saying, I hope all your friends and family are well, and safe. And to know that growing up and in Manchester today the Jewish communities in the neighbourhood have enriched our lives, our food, our music, our healthcare, our architecture etc etc the list goes on. It's massively valued and cherished.

Boston is big college town and it's hip to be anti-Semitic in academia. Been like this for decades, but now they can be open and flaunt it. If you hang an Israeli flag or any solidarity towards Israel on your property, it would be vandalized within 48 hours. Happening all the time.

There is not one peep from our leaders on how they plan to rescue American citizens held hostage. They could care less because they are also Jewish.

As far as I know, political discourse is perfectly acceptable on FOH. We just can’t discuss US politics, since the Aussies have (rightfully) determined that we’re not able to have a reasonable conversation involving it. 😔

International issues are always open for discussion.

However, take the US angle out of it. Unfortunately, there has been little evidence that the US angle (on most things) can be discussed rationally, Cuba issues are different to a point as that is our foundation. Members should be smart enough to traverse the tightrope.

In terms of Israel/Palestine.....I am quite sure we are all aghast at the human suffering on both sides.

Are there only two sides?

There are hostages remaining from at least 5 different countries. The same questions asked here should be asked of those governments as well.
