J.C. Newman Cigar Co. and the LeRoy Neiman and the Janet Byrne Neiman Foundation will begin shipping the LeRoy Neiman 2023 Collectors Edition cigars to 177 of the leading premium cigar retailers in the United States. This new luxury, handcrafted cigar is a collaboration between America’s oldest family-owned premium cigar maker and the foundation of the late, iconic, cigar-smoking American artist, LeRoy Neiman. All profits are being donated to support arts education in Tampa’s public schools.

Love it. Philanthropy is one of life's greatest inspirations. One person doing something lovely, somehow has the power to outweigh a 1000 people doing something shitty.

I think the Fuentes do something similar.  You and Rob (Mucho Robusto) had the Nicaraguan Children's charity thing for many years.  We did some fundraising for that during our Toronto "MegaHerfs" for several years too. 

Despite being a vilified product. There's some real gems in this biz/hobby.

My first job was working at the family pharmacy as a clerk around age 12. I'll never forget one of the old pharmacists telling me that philanthropy was the best investment you can ever make - you'll always get back ten times what you put in. Of course he also got wiped out in the dot com boom.

But I think he was right. That statement has stuck with me, and is something I try to live by.
