Smoked a 2022 Hoyo De Monterrey Petit Robusto this morning and loving it. It's been kept at 18.5-19.5 C (65-68F) at 62-63% RH,  burn and flavor was spot on, only had to relight once for the entire stick with no effect on flavor whatsoever, slightly loose band indicating humidity on the cigar itself was OK. However, I experienced a blowout towards the end, nothing disastrous like a complete blowout but quite annoying nonetheless. What could be the cause for such problem?

Dude I think this hobby is causing you more stress than what it’s taking away.

My advice, try and enjoy it or take a break. Someone had to say it.

You've hit the nail on the head but I reckon it's true of a lot of us. I usually find the higher my expectations the more I get irritated when it doesn't go to plan! Best to keep expectations rock bottom with Cubans.

Finally.

If someone is being very picky and feeling stressful upon smoking every cigar, esp Cubans then you are in the wrong field.

You're dealing with cuban cigars. Feel lucky you got to the end.

OP, the three words you wrote "pursuit of perfection", you will not find nor achieve in this "cigar hobby". I can emphatically state this after 30+ years being involved in it. But I wish you the best of luck in your quest. 🙂

Hey man you do you. But to quote Tin Cup, “perfection is unobtainable”.

Glad it was a pleasurable smoke. Don’t sweat the small stuff.

This can and does happen much worse in the first third.

Like the other guy said, you're lucky that you made it to the end 😅

I have found cigar glue can save the day. Also if you don't have a perfecdraw you may want to get one
