A day for a great cigar!

I always smoke a great cigar on my parents' birthdays, my mom would have been 90 today. The LBT OCT09 box of Esplendidos I celebrate with is as great as I have. It’s my mother, not my father that started me on my cigar journey. I had never smoked a cigar, but being in Canada I knew you could buy Cuban cigars. My father smoked a pipe and my mother cigarettes, but they both loved a great cigar. She was the one that took me to the tobacconist on a sunny morning in Vancouver. The gentleman that helped us didn’t bat an eye that a boy not quite 16 was selecting about 30 cigars. The one thing I can still remember him saying is “you aren’t by chance Americans”. My mother and I made many more visits to tobacconists before we left Vancouver. We had quite a few boxes stuffed under the car seats as we approached the border, a small cheer was given as we pulled away from the border patrol.
