El Presidente Posted October 15, 2023 Posted October 15, 2023 PRESS RELEASE The Reserva line of Habanos is distinguished historically by the production of the line’s ultimate classics, which are created for this use from specially aged tobaccos. Now comes the Partagás Series E No.2 as Gran Reserva, a still-young format made with tobaccos from the 2015 crop. However, the enormous Duke format quickly rose to the top of the Partagás brand’s selling list. It is unquestionably pleasant in the hand and brings out the tobacco mix of the Partagás Line Series beautifully thanks to its length of 140 mm and large ring gauge of 54. It really brings out the Partagás Line Series’ tobacco mix. This was sufficient justification for Habanos S.A. to create a Gran Reserva edition just for this format. These top-notch cigars are unquestionably some of the most exclusive and outstanding joys in the Habanos universe since they are crafted with tobaccos that have been especially carefully matured from the 2015 harvest. It should go without saying that in the factories, only the most skilled rollers are chosen to create these masterpieces from the finest tobacco leaves. Each Gran Reserva edition is only made available in the globe in 5,000 boxes, each containing 15 cigars. Only tobaccos aged for at least five years are used for the filler, wrapper, and binder of the Gran Reservas, which are made from the best Vegas Finas de Prima from the Pinar del Rio region. The word “cosecha” in Spanish means “harvest” and designates the year from which the tobacco leaves are harvested. A second, black and gold cigar ring identifies these cigars as “Gran Reserva.” The high-gloss black lacquered noble boxes emphasize the sophisticated look of the Gran Reserva cigars. Partagás Serie E No.2 Gran Reserva will be available in Switzerland on the 24th of October 2023 in the Casa del Habano and on the 31st in the Habanos Specialist stores. The box of Partagas Serie E No. 2 Gran Reserva a 15 cigars is proposed to as RSP of 4’125 Swiss Francs. 1 1
jakebarnes Posted October 15, 2023 Posted October 15, 2023 Looks like my 2017s are a few years off from growing a second band. That's a brutal price.
MrBirdman Posted October 15, 2023 Posted October 15, 2023 I guess they’ve stopped attaching release years to these entirely - I think these were supposed to be “2021”? 1
djmatty Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 Had an EBS SEP 20 PSE2 yesterday. Can't imagine burning $300USD for one of these.

kcmontie Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 Out of my price range but I would bet good money they will be quite tasty. 1

LizardGizmo Posted October 17, 2023 Posted October 17, 2023 I thought I remember LizardGizmo mentioning that all E2 come from EL. What box code do you have?A lot of E2 come from El Laguito, but I’m not certain that *all* E2 do. I was told that wrapper that is just slightly not good enough for BHK is used for E2, which is why they make so many at Laguito, but I would assume they also come from elsewhere. I don’t have much E2 in my humidor so I don’t have first hand code knowledge. 1

NSXCIGAR Posted October 17, 2023 Posted October 17, 2023 I've been able to try a few of these. Very BHK-like quality leaf. Not a lot of Partagas character but maybe a touch of that paprika far in the background. Not particularly rich in flavors. Medium, maybe a touch under. If you like the BHK style you'll like these. For me, I find a Salomones just as enjoyable. I have some excellent recent Siglo VI that are more enjoyable. 1
gormag38 Posted October 17, 2023 Posted October 17, 2023 I've got a five count box MTS OCT 21 that are PHENOMENAL. Great cigar.
Ted Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 https://www.cigaraficionado.com/article/most-expensive-partagas-ever-making-its-way-to-retail Bought a box of RyJ chuchill reserva for just under $500 in 2014 and the box is somewhat underwhelming.. Couldn't imaging spending this coin and getting a mediocre cigar..
PartagasIV Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 RyJ Churchill Reserva is also a dog of a release, to be fair. I won't be a stockpiler of these^^, but it's not to say they won't sell. Getting a mediocre cigar in a box of Habanos (plugged, off, bad) just makes one chase the dragon for a 'great' one even more.

I have to say I am looking forward to seeing a review of the Partagas! ......no...I have not made room in my personal humidor 1

In the other thread about them I said I tried a few. Very BHK-like profile. Smooth, well-aged leaf without a lot of richness or intensity. Would never guess it as a Partagas or an E2 but there's a touch of paprika and sourdough on the fringes if you really look for it I guess, although it could be confirmation bias. Personally, I'd rather have an excellent regular production E2. 2

The couple of my El Laguito E2s that I have smoked so far have been absolutely amazing! 😍 1
