Popular Post joeypots Posted June 12, 2023 Popular Post Posted June 12, 2023 Believe it or not time was you could buy a tenner of Siglo VI for 200$. It’s a great cigar, maybe just a hair too thick, and like all of the Siglos it can come alive sometime after 5 years. I’m still figuring out how I’m going to cope with cigararmageddon. Initially, I wasn’t going to sell any Cuban cigars but I have seen a few offers that tested my resolve. Add the fact that there are plenty of good NCs out there for less than stratospheric prices and my cigar rotation is in flux. This VI had the most pronounced divot in the head I’ve seen. The cap, which I cut off with a sharp blade, showed it was twisted into the indentation. That’s pretty good rolling. The cigar burned and drew perfectly and delivered plenty of chewy smoke. The flavor was sweet and a touch tangy with a great aftertaste of smooth tobacco. I’ll call not medium bodied and medium strength. At 11 years old there was nothing young about it, late middle age was setting in. I don’t know if I’ll hold back the few VIs I have left. Maybe they’ll become more refined but right now they are very good. I suspect that if the cigars aren’t perfectly stored they could expire by about 20 years of age. I’m going to give this cigar a 93 and say that it’s at or just past its peak. It was the best after brunch Sunday smoke I’ve had in a while. 13
MrBirdman Posted June 12, 2023 Posted June 12, 2023 I would love to see a video review of the 2003 vintage VI’s to see how they’re aging as they enter their third decade.
Oscar300 Posted June 14, 2023 Posted June 14, 2023 Thanks for the review, I'm pretty sure I have the same box stashed. I got two boxes at the time, smoke one over the years and not cracked the next box yet. Some of the best cigars I have ever smoked. Sell...keep..........sell..........keep, probably keep eh. I also have that pen knife 😉.
