"Rob, congratulations on the nupitals! I know you are flat out so a quick question for you. I have the choice of buying either a 2017 or 2019 production of Cohiba Talisman at a realistic price. I can't buy both. They look fairly identical. I have no intention of flicking the box but I wanted to know if you have a preference as to which production batch was better? Online there are mixed reports on both. Purely in terms of smoking, what is your preference?"

From CCW:

When this cigar was first announced, the factory name was given as Cañonazo Doble, however, by the time of release it had been changed to Sublimes No.1. A second batch of these cigars (reportedly 200,000) was rolled and released in 2019. The tobacco used in this second batch was from the same harvest as the initial cigars.

Everything I've read indicates the second wave (2019-2020) was more well-received.

All I've had myself were undated singles so I can't compare.

I remember when everyone rolled their eyes at the pricing of Talisman in 2019-2020 before the Cigarmeddon. How times have changed...

Yup!

Not a Cohiba guy but overall my 2 cents is that 16-17 were good years, the 19-20’s were the best in my recollection across the board.

Same with the Robustos Supremos. $40 was eye-watering at the time. But they all sold...

I find no difference between the 2 years.

Agreed. To my taste there is bugger all between them.
