You want something to eat at 1 or 2 A.M. in my part of the woods, you better get to cooking. Hardee's closes at 7 pm and McDonald's and Taco Bell closes at 10 pm.

Real Chili over pasta from my drinking days in Milwaukee. Had to wait in line to get a counter seat at 2am  Not fast food but brilliant stuff

Also one of the best hangover cures the day after. Great call @Chibearsv

Denny's. Drunken sloppy Monte Cristo and mozzarella sticks

If real fast food though probably Arby's. I'll take 5 beef n cheddars with that horseradish sauce

That horsey sauce does the job 🤣

I also used to live near Mr Beef on Orleans.

I have stumbled into the Mr. Beef on Orleans many times. So good!

Been to Mr Beef plenty of times, it’s terrific.  But Roma’s was my usual late night Chicago beef and sausage combo spot. Used to shoot pool at a nearby bar and hit Romas before the drive home to the burbs 😬  How I survived my 20s and 30s is astonishing.

I hear you. Although not sure what’s riskier today, walking home passed Hubbard St at 2am or driving 20 miles after a long night…

Meh. Most of the time, the biggest risk is still burb bros trying to prove something after they get out of the clubs/bars.

I don't really go out in River North since my mid 20s have passed. Just not my scene--too many clubs/bars that aren't my style. Usually ate the tenders at Frank's because that was my hole in the wall spot down there and it scratched an itch. My current portfolio of late night food:

The Diner Grill

Taco Bell (it just hits right)

Redhot Ranch

In Memoriam to:

Paddy Longs

Kite String Cantina being open until 3am with food. Those taquitos are damn good.

Nowadays, where I live (off Michigan & Lake shore) there isn’t a decent bar within a few blocks. Basically hotel bars and that’s it, or Oak St restaurants (which doesn’t really work). I’d love a great watering hole that I could easily poke into…

Come to Lakeview, we have good hole in the walls galore 😀

But on that note: I've got whiskey and the Biggs patio is pretty nice in the summer. I can at least help you alleviate the lack of a good drink spot for one night

My partner gave me a Biggs membership years ago and I never found a way to use it.  Hopefully, we can get together somewhere this summer for a smoke and solutions to world problems.

Isn't Doc B's near you @chasy?.  Not really a watering hole necessarily, but a pretty good sandwich and beer spot.

It’s a deal. Can walk to Biggs in 8 min.

Just had our first 3 weeks ago, so I need a bit of time to help acclimatize to dad duties and then we’re all good!

Congrats! Once you're settled and get a free minute, let's do it!
