The factory asked this overnight and I don't have an answer. I can get my team to check but they are flat out enough today.

So to the question:

Is there a lineal rational to ribbon width and gauge in CC packaging?

ie   all gauges > XY gauge have YZ width ribbon  (where appropriate).

all gauges<  XY gauge  have YZ with ribbon  (where appropriate)

Maybe throw out some ribbon widths in mm when you reach for a cigar today :ok:

Gracias :spotlight:

I think it should be RG as a width of ribbon. There is nothing to suggest that this is the case. But I think it's great rule. And it would catch loads of fakers out

They've always seemed pretty uniform going back as far as I can recall, i.e. 1997 or so. Always seemed about an inch. We see now that was about right.

You are not thinking about adding ribbons to these cigars are you? What’s next, bands and boxes!? That would be like putting a belt on a naked guy…🤣

This kind of belt has a name. It’s called beach belt.

So I’ll go for wide or wider.

Recently opened up a cab of Hoyo DC that had the ribbon tied a bit tight and deformed (bowed) a few of the sticks over six years. Wondering if a wider ribbon would have prevented that bowing.

stick smoked fine, but I kept thinking it “dressed to the left” which kinda ruined the cigar for me.
