Popular Post cigaraholic Posted February 3, 2023 Popular Post Posted February 3, 2023 A great cigar lover told me how much he enjoyed this cigar, I had a couple of boxes but hadn’t tried one yet, I accidentally smoked one thinking I’d grabbed a Allones Extra one night, blame it on the Cognac, that was a fantastic mistake. Luckily this was back when dinosaurs still roamed the earth and cigars like this went on sale. I wish the dinosaurs would come back. This cigar has a smooth dark milk chocolate wrapper, nicely filled at 11.6g. Cold draw has a nice cuban tug with rich fruity tobacco flavor. Opens with plums, nuts , currants, vanilla, butter and spice. It’s a fruitcake bomb! In my wet dream cigar world this is what every Ramon Allones should taste like, I love fruity cigars. It was a fruitcake bomb from the first puff to the last. I can’t think of a better cigar to have with a vintage Port. If you were on a desert island you wouldn’t care if you had nothing to drink, it’s dessert all by itself. As good as it gets🌈 9

I remember the unpleasantness of the beefy, burnt tasting RA Extra. When the Club Allones came out, I thought "AHH, that's what they were trying to do, they failed miserably first time, and then hit a home run. A dark take on RA blend doesn't have to be led by horrid tasting ligero, if can just be rich, and full or fruitcake notes. I wan't all RA to be like this, but I find them to be a let down, more often than not. A great cigar, I smoked mine way too early 2
foursite12 Posted February 4, 2023 Posted February 4, 2023 Yep. This cigar is Exhibit A in the case for aging. I went long on these when they came out and they weren't exactly cheap. You could tell that they had it all, but in disconnected chunks; the package just wasn't wholly integrated yet. Nonetheless, many of us became skeptical and shrugged it off as another EL charade. Add 5 years to the odometer and voila. These guys have been simply superb since for the last couple of years now. And the price of entry looks downright cheap in the rear-view mirror. 1
