It is pretty well documented that from 2017, on  38 - 47 sized bands, under UV,  4 squares in a staircase pattern appear on Cohiba.

There is never a shotgun start on these things. It can take years.

From your stock, what is the latest 38-47 gauge Cohiba "without the dots"

Let's see if we can roughly work out when the uptake was 100%

Gracias :D

Do we have any reason to believe that uptake has gone to 100%?

From my Cohiba stock, I have a few 2021 38-47 ring gauge boxes WITHOUT the 4 diagonal squares:

  • 2 boxes MAR OCT 21 Esplendidos
    • These boxes have 2 diagonal squares at the end of the band
    • I have 2 boxes MAR MAR 21 Esplendidos WITH the 4 diagonal squares
  • 1 box TUA AGO 21 Secretos
    • This box has neither the 4 or 2 diagonal squares

All my other 38-47 ring gauge stock (e.g., Lanceros and Siglo I thru V) from late-2017 to 2022 have the 4 diagonal squares.

To make this more fun, I have a box of SOP OCT 21 Robustos WITH the 4 diagonal squares.   All my other Robustos (as well as my Siglo VIs & Piramides Extra) in this date range have the 2 squares at the end of the band.

I am pretty confident in the vendors 😅

What UV light do you guys have? I've an led torch thing and it's not any good. Especially when trying to take a photo!

12$ UV Blacklight from amazon. It have to be dark in the room, darker the better.

I did some experimenting with my light and have to agree with @hrs1 , I don’t think it is 100%. The below pic is of 4 cigars

Coronas Especiales-SOP DIC19
Siglo III-Unknown. Was a prize pack
Siglo IV-LME DIC19
CoRo-UAO MAY19

The Siglo III and Siglo IV clearly have the 4 dots while the CCE and CoRo do not.

Nice! For fluorescence the 365nm works better, wondering though how the blue squares are showing whit that? Price is also higher isn't it?

15.99£ Vs £4.99

Little more than a Guantanamera Cristales...

That's very late to be missing at 2019. Wonder if the UV stamp on cohibas are also date related like the barcodes?

I wondered the same thing. One of the Siglo III’s from the same 5-pack had a different code on the bottom of the band. Initially I just thought that code was related to the size of the band, but maybe not.

All four of the cigars in my picture came from the same vendor, easy to guess who :) , and I am sure are 100% legit.

with all of the inconsistencies we see in LEGIT Cuban cigars, you would drive yourself crazy checking everything and never really knowing what you have.  This is why you just have to buy from someone that you trust.  98% of my collection is from here.  100% of my Cohiba are from here.  Don't need that stress in my life lol

I wholeheartedly agree. Same here.
