Popular Post joeypots Posted October 3, 2022 Popular Post Posted October 3, 2022 I like Cohiba. It took me a while for me to discover just what it is that makes the marca great but once I got it I started to buy when I could. I got sick of the Els and REs some time ago and sold most of the ones I had at what I thought was a good mark up. Who knew? Those sales funded a little splurge on Cohibas, Linea Classica and Siglos. I was smoking Cuban cigars when the Siglo VI was introduced, ’02, but had no knowledge of the cigar until ’04. They were expensive then and I remember people complaining about the girth of the cigar at 52RG. How times change....I think I had a box sometime along the way but that was a long time ago. I did have two tenners from ’12, they were a bargain at $200. One is gone, I wrapped the second in plastic wrap a few years ago as a non scientific experiment in oxygen limited storage. I broke the box yesterday. I’m not good at describing flavors but here goes. The VI was a good looking cigar and once cut drew perfectly. It started with smooth creamy smoke a hint of bean flavors. No honey, no grass. Just a touch of citrus twang. The retrohale and overall aroma were divine. There were no in my face flavors but the cigar was very good. My taste may have shifted in the last few years, I do seem to like punchy, rich cigars more than I used to. The Silo VI was anything but. It was an aged cigar that may have entered what MRN called a deal period, not that I have a copy of the book laying around. I may moisten the remaining 9 up a bit and now I think I’ll won't let cigars lay around for so long. Recent tobacco changes have diminished the benefits of aging Cuban cigars long term. I know most of my cigars are the bomb at 4 to 7 years. I’ll comment here when I smoke the next VI. 10
SCgarman Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 The big question is will you still buy Cohiba at the current pricing? Are they worth $100usd/stick to fans of the brand?

RDB Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 I am loving the honest Cohiba reviews. I’ve recently had a great run of the marca, with an Espy, Lancero and a couple of CoRo all excellent over the past 3 months. Plus a couple of dull Sig 2s. But a random sample like we’re getting this weekend is pretty sobering. 4
