Packaging mystery

Hi guys, 

 

Hope everyone s fine. So, i got this box from a reputable cigar merchant in Switzerland with include Intertabak features. 

 

But why are my cigars packed like that?

Maybe to avoid damage and dry out. 
Look pretty compact and safe

Perhaps contact the vendor? Normally the whole box would be plastic wrapped. That's a new one

The wooden box was plastic wrapped as well as the cardboard box. Also, the Intertabak stickers. 

I didn't mention the cigars, Legados obv

Never seen that before and seems like more trouble than it's worth but, ok. Not sure what the advantage is over just shrink wrapping the entire box...

I'd ask them. I know one vendor in Switzerland that constantly has mold issues. They may be protecting their product
