Soft flame lighter recommendation?

Recommended Posts

Normally use jet/torch lighters, but have to fly and I'm told security will confiscate.  Need to buy a soft flame (and likely smoking outdoors, not a soft flame strength).  Disposable BIC won't cut it -- need a better look for business.  Not prepared to spend Dupont money.

Someone suggested the Xikar Meridian Triple Soft Flame.  Anyone used one?

In short, any soft flame recommendation please?

Real tough ask.  I was on this journey about a year ago and ended up getting the DuPont Le Grand. Anything I saw that was cheaper was bad looking and not functional. I’m happy with the decision now but it took some time for me to get there given the price. Good luck!

I don’t like BICs or any type of soft flame cigarette lighter of that type to light cigars with, because you have to hold the valve down to keep it lit.

So I use a vintage St. Dupont Ligne I as my soft flame lighter. They’re relatively inexpensive and well made.
