Dry box humidity control

What’s the ideal humidity for a dry box?  And any ideas on how to maintain it in a humid environment? I live in asia and in the summers it’s both hot and humid. I’ve been experimenting with some stuff and am interested to hear peoples’ opinions. Thanks!

I keep a desktop humidor with about 12-18 cigars. It has a divider so I fill the empty side when I need a restock. I use a pound of Heartfelt beads to regulate the moisture in summer and I dry the beads out when things get too moist. It’s been working for me for years. Bovida 65% packs are good for less humid months.

Thanks! I’ve been experimenting with different salt mixtures to fix specific RH.  It’s what Boveda uses in their packets.  I’ll post about it if people are interested.

We stick with 60 or 62 bovedas. The dry box may have them on-deck for a while due to a variety of reasons.

I use Boveda 62% in my dry box tupperdor in Atlanta. If I was in Asia where it's even more crazy humid than Atlanta, I would get a 62% Boveda, and box it up with a couple of 5g desiccant packs to suck some of the juice out, then use that in your dry box. The desiccants will "prime" the Boveda so it can slowly absorb the extra humidity.

I've also done quite well with one 5g desiccant pack for about 3-4 coronas. They need to sit for a couple of weeks to stabilize once the desiccant is exhausted. They will generally land somewhere in the low 60s which is fine.

I use a Rubbermaid Brilliance with 62% boveda packs. Seems to keep the humidity to around 63% ish. I try to keep termp at 68-70 * F
