Ken Gargett Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 sister took this pic - smallest snake i have seen for a while. looks like a baby python but i don't think it is a carpet python - the most common by far. children's python? embarrassingly, she called a snake catcher. she should have asked for the kiddies' discount. 1
Popular Post Chas.Alpha Posted January 24, 2022 Popular Post Posted January 24, 2022 It has the head of a baby python, however in Australia I think it prudent to consider it the most deadly thing on the planet. You’ll be right 9 out of 10 times... 😳 1 1 5
Niko8 Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 Looks like juvenile Children's Python to me. Awesome find. Don't let them take it away!

Don't let them take it away! apparently a common coastal python about 2-3 weeks old. if there is one... sadly, it has been removed. my sister has a springer spaniel. fair to say that at some stage the two would not have got on and i suspect the python may have come off second best. better for it to be released off in the bush.
Ken Gargett Posted January 24, 2022 Author Posted January 24, 2022 so apparently the common coastal python is the same thing as a carpet python. different colouring to the ones i used to get at my place (not far away). my biggest was 13 foot so perhaps it might be able to deal with the dog at that size. i always thought that big one spent some time sizing up whether i'd fit.
Greenhorn2 Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 If that was near my house, I would call that the classic dead snake.

Greenhorn2 Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 Give it a few years, it will grow into a full sized anaconda and eat me in my sleep. Not taking any chances with no snake. Nada, nope . 2
BEVOSREVENGE Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 The best kind of snake is a dead snake. I don't judge them, I just get the shotgun out and blast them to snake heaven. 1
tuff Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 Classic hunting position. Pity the small furry creature or lizard that happened to run under the wood board he was posting on.
Dozerhead Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 It's just nice to see you guys down under actually have a reptile that is non venomous.
