Silver Cigar Box - Need Help

I've got a friend that told me he had a silver cigar box and wanted to know if I could find any details on it.  I told him I'd post up some pictures and see if anyone on the forum had some insight into the box, the maker's marks, it's age, and maybe the names inscribed.  Just looking to see if Uncle so and so had something interesting he left behind.  Thank you for any input.

From my limited dealings with such items I would say:

First mark is the maker's mark - which I cannot decipher from the photos

Second mark is for Sheffield

Third mark is for sterling

Fourth mark is a date code - which appears worn down

If you can clearly determine the letters in the maker's mark you can search old (online now) resources of businesses or check on the myriad of websites that have lists of makers.

Yep,  you are going to need macro in focus images to determine the other worn marks, I can't properly make them out with these images.

this 1914 mark might make sense for the worn mark and the similar patterning,   It would also make sense if this was a gift around WW1

I'm not having much luck with the dedication either.

This may be close for the gifter, but is actually just a guess given the lack of other fitting searches:

Yep, we saw that too.  We didn't know if that was a direct connection either.
