Winter Steelhead Season

My favorite thing on earth is chasing winter steelhead here in Northern California,Oregon and Washington. It's raining as I type this, which is so much needed for our drought ravaged state of California. Last season was absolutely abysmal in the way of catch rates, and this season again,Washington has pretty much shut down most of the viable opportunity for even catch and release angling.

Fires ravaged the Klamath and Trinity river watersheds where I pursue fall run steelhead,so I am itching to chase some winter steel! I hope to be able to share some good pics on here. If not of fish, the scenery is usually pretty stellar.  Meanwhile, some older catches of years past...

Beautiful fish! I frequently fish the Brule River in northern WI all the way to Lake Superior. Canoe or Kayak is only way to access some of the more remote areas. Some treacherous boulder runs to navigate as well.
