There is a fine line between genius and what was I thinking. You can find yourself straddling that boundary and wind up with it popping up and smacking you where it hurts. Here are some guidelines to avoid this.

1. Don't shop when you are drunk. Unless your partner is also drunk.

2. Don't shop when you are watching sport. This has nothing to do with successful purchasing. If the game is that dull, find something better.

3. Don't shop while driving

Now that I look at this, I think my advice is crap. Buy what you like and hope for the best. I bought my wife a box of 25 Cohiba Secretos. My wife bought me a suitcase. Go figure.

I suspect that it would need to be much bigger than that.  My wife would ask where the wheels are since that's only big enough to be a travel case.
