Popular Post Midas Posted September 18, 2021 Popular Post Posted September 18, 2021 Purchased a couple of singles of these around 8 months ago, smoked one at the beginning of summer, this one has been sitting in my humidor at around 63% rh for the 8 Months. Wrapper has a slight sheen to it, cut around the top cap opens a perfect draw, slight resistance but easily smokeable. Paired with a black coffee to start, flavour is straight cedar and slight spice. Smooth on the retro. Ash holds on perfectly for the first third, thick smoke that coats the tongue. Flavour is predominantly cedar with some leather, retro has a nice spice but nothing too strong. Into the final third, construction has been perfect, one slight touch up not long after this picture when the band was removed. Flavour turned more to a strong leather, spice picked up on the retro but remained smooth. Now paired with a single malt Islay whiskey and Dr Pepper. Medium bodied throughout the 90ish minute smoke time. Nothing to complain about but also nothing special to note, overall a nice smoke. Would I buy more? Maybe a quarter box of recent production on 24:24 but I wouldn’t rush to buy a box based on the couple I’ve had so far. I’ve been smoking through an amazing box of Short De Punch, those would be my choice over these any day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 7
Cairo Posted September 18, 2021 Posted September 18, 2021 Thanks for the review. I am still learning, but I am beginning to sense that 2016 was just not a good year for most Cubans--almost any other year of anything seems better.

The Punch Punch I've got from 2015 and 2016 were all pretty overfilled, one dimensional, woody, and not too impressive It's worthwhile baring in mind that the Punch Punch from 2018 onwards is showing all the richness and class that the Shorts Du Punch is, but A, it's a longer smoke, and B, more wrapper leaf ratio. It's affectively the same tobacco just in a different format. Anyway go with your gut, but everything I've had from Punch post 2018 has been awesome.

Definitely going to pick up a 1/4 box but the time difference makes 24:24 difficult from the UK. Our clocks change at the end of next month so I think that makes it an hour earlier here so a bit easier. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I am......yep I get pretty frustrated that this part of the work pretty much gets cut off at the knees for the 24/24

I think when the clocks go back next month it’s not as bad. Probably doing me a favour waking up to everything sold out for the past 6 months to be honest. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 3
