From 2013-2018 I Travelled to Charlotte once or twice a year for work.

I'm back for the first time in a few years and there are more options than I remember. I'm only planning to be here tonight and tomorrow night, but throw out any recommendations if you have them.

There was a shop I used to frequent a few years ago, but I cant remember the name/find it on Google Maps. So I figured I would try something new.

Im staying a couple miles south of the airport, but I have a car, so anything within about 20 minutes works.

I'm originally from there & travel there for work several times a year.

There is literally nowhere to smoke CCs. The few smoke shops (not sure if they're still open?) ban you bringing your own in, trying to say its against state law. All in all a really shi*ty place to smoke...which is ironic being that NC once grew more tobacco than any other US state.

May be a little further than you want to drive but The Cigar Loft in nearby Concord, NC is a modest but friendly little place. I've been there several times for gatherings with my cigar friends and smoked CC's. Not sure whether it is strictly allowed or not. The proprietor Derek seems to have never taken much interest in what I was smoking after I agree to pay the $10 (I think) cover for non-members and make a trip to the humidor to buy a couple of sticks for politeness.

It's odd. There seem to be quite a few "Member Only" Clubs around, others that are open 4 days a week for a few hours a day. That's not something I'm used to. Most shops I've visited(regardless of location) dont care what you're smoking a long as you pay the fee/buy something.

I'm on the other side of town from Concord right now, but that's where I used to spend all my time. Its my favorite part of the city, gearhead heaven. Burners is the place that I frequented previously. Good location, great vibe, but no liquor/beer if I remember correctly. I'll check out The Cigar Loft though. Thanks for the tip!

I began my smoking career at Burners Cigar in Huntersville! Great spot in one of the nicest areas in the state.

Small World! It is a very nice part of town. I'm always amazed at how quickly this Area, even out to Asheville is growing. Its been 8 years since my first trip and they're still building frantically, expansing the airport, highways, etc. Its the same in Denver, where is everybody coming from? Haha.

I'm planning to stop by Burners later this morning, Ill post some pics and an update after my visit.

Haha that's awesome! I lived there for a year in 2014-2015. My old boss would smoke a Diamond Crown no 4 there after work every day, and after I joined him for a few months a few days a week I was hooked on cigars!! I was just there a few months ago, just a great area!

Ha very small world! I saw you moved against the grain to the west coast! It was definitely a fun time being a California boy experiencing the south for the first time!

I didn't end up having nearly as much free time as I had hoped(like always) but I was able to wolf down a Puntilla at Burners Wednesday afternoon. It was packed, so I didn't grab many photos. The photos on google maps (with the green paint) are accurate though.

The vibe was still great. Music wasn't too loud, Olympic boxing on the TV, very Laid Back. The only real down side is no bar/liquor license. Some had brought in their own whiskey though, so BYOB appears to be accepted.

They have several prominently placed signs stating that only cigars purchased on premises are allowed to be smoked in the lounge. However, they will charge you a $10 cutting fee or let you purchase some sticks to take home. I choose the latter and Picked up; an EP Carillo Pledge Prequel, a Room 101 10th Anniversary 6x50 and a Hamlet 25th Year Toro at 6.5x52. For $36 and change, I think their prices are more than fair. 3 Cuban Robusto's will run you damn close to that in the current market.

The Humidor was STOCKED. Lots of mostly full boxes and very good variety. I was familiar with the Hamlet, but knew nothing about the other two cigars. The Room 101 look's very interesting. Fillers from all over the planet, Including The USA and Indonesia. If the weather cooperates, I'll try it this weekend. The EP Carillo won C.A.'s "Cigar of the Year" for 2020 and was rated a 98 by them. We'll see.

Try the Vintage in Charlotte, cool vibe establishment and have heard good things, though haven’t been myself. Seems to be a door charge for there, but imo would be worth checking out.

Vintage is good but also a really unknown spot is Havana Smoke and Reserve in Uptown. Great for out of town guests and they don't care if you bring outside sticks as long as you're spending money on drinks.

I would also recommend the Charlotte City Club which has a high rise lounge on the 32nd floor if you're a local. It is a private club which requires a membership (I believe $5,000) but comes with golf, dining, and other benefits. Stunning view of the city if you know someone who can get you in.

Either way, I married a local so if anybody is in the area for business or pleasure, send me a DM. More than happy to give a tour of the town.
