Popular Post djrey Posted May 27, 2021 Popular Post Posted May 27, 2021 It was a rainy night with a sky full of lighting and I was really craving a cigar. Went with a NC in hopes the better construction would help keep it burning. This example is from a box I have had aging for a good while. Starts up earthy with some pepper but very very smooth. Great draw and burn even in the high humidity. After a half inch or so there is a very unique floral flavor that I have never experienced from any cigar. Very unique and almost perfume like. I wish I was able to describe it more but it was pleasurable and lasted no more than 20-30 minutes. Second third lost that floral note and went down the typical Nicaraguan route. Earth and some more spice. It was still wildly smooth but I could tell the road was at an end. Final third I was getting bored with it and puffing faster and faster to not only finish it but see if just maybe some extra heat would coax some additional complexities. It did not. Overall it was good. The first 3rd was really quite awesome with the very unique bouquet. Second and final third left me with full confidence in my last year of buying Habanos only. Great stick if you wanted just smooth easy flavors to not think about as you talk, fish, yardwork etc. I feel that a newer smoker would have a great time with it. Right besides an espresso or latte my favorite drink of choice, an unflavored club soda. Nothing can refresh the palate like this. 86pts. 8
havanaclub Posted May 27, 2021 Posted May 27, 2021 Great cigar. Love the cazzy in brown label. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
Mickey D Posted May 27, 2021 Posted May 27, 2021 Nice review. Unfortunately I wasn’t impressed with many of the Tatuaje line. They all seemed harsh and left a taste like I had been licking an ashtray. 1

Ginseng Posted May 27, 2021 Posted May 27, 2021 Gosh, I remember when these came out and they were all the rage. Some were pretty good as I recall. Haven't seen them locally in years. Are they pretty much the same? 1
Kevin48438 Posted May 27, 2021 Posted May 27, 2021 The brown label are kind of like Cubans in that the vitolas are quite noticeably different from each other. 16 minutes ago, Ginseng said: Gosh, I remember when these came out and they were all the rage. The high demand must have hurt the cycle. Plus all the newer blends that may be using some of the same tobaccos. The black labels are still pretty good. As per usual, skinnier is better. 1

What the blending is like today I can’t comment.
StogieSteve23 Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 I'm a big Tat fan, but am not a fanboy chasing down the unicorn boxes. Love the Havana VI line as one of my daily smokes and the brown label SdC line is up there as a great everyday smoke as well, as you said. Give the TAA 2020 a try if you have not already. More complex and rich, like eating a tender Filet Mignon with an espresso ground rub. 1
