Hello everyone.  Happy to have come across this site.  Was big into cigars about 10 years ago and kinda been on hiatus.  Recently getting back into them all nc as of right now but thinking of diving into the Cuban realm.  Looking for something that’s ready to smoke now since I have very few cigars at the moment, will worry about getting some to age down the road.  Back when I was into cigars I did order a box of bolivar gold medals, unfortunately life happened and I had to offload them to pay some bills.  Was hoping to get a box of those to replace the ones I had to sell but it appears they have been discontinued.  Anyway,  I have rambled enough, I will leave with a couple questions, for non Cuban cigars I heavily favor Maduro’s like padron 3000 or anniversary series, 601 blue, Olivia o and g maduros.  What Cubans do you think I may enjoy based on that info?

Also for anyone in the know is the newbie sampler still available, I do not see it in the store?

Thanks!

Welcome to FOH! It sometimes happens on PC as well by unknown reason unfortunately.

Welcome from Wyoming

I'm kinda the opposite. Just beginning to get back into nc's after smoking cc's exclusively for over a year. Just felt like I was missing out on some great smokes by ignoring nc's, so have stocked up a large tupperdoor full now, mainly gifted by the very generous members of various forums I belong to.
The Cigar community is just amazing

I too enjoyed the Padron Anniversary series and Ashton VSG were another. I still think there are some wonderful NCs, but my advice as an admittedly inexperienced guide would be this; some of my favorite CC are much more moderate in strength but more complex and/or definitive in flavors.  One of the best parts of CCs is the journey in trying different brands and sizes.  To start, I'm a fan of going with a few different petite coronas, not a particularly a costly entry point and you can get some very different strengths and flavor profiles. If you don't want to do a full sampler of a particular vitola (size) OR if you are worried you'll have a single dud or an insufficient sample size with a single cigar from one brand, consider buying three singles of a few of the cigars available in the singles cart.

The petit corona sampler is a great start in my opinion. Stock dependent, you're looking at something from Montecristo, Bolivar, H. Upmann, Romeo y Julieta, Diplomatico, Por Larrañaga, Rafael Gonzalez or perhaps even a Cohiba Siglo.   There are some wonderful differences to experience in these brands (marcas).

I have my favorites in this group, but some are different than what I would probably have been advised that would fit my taste. Even now, one of the things I really enjoy is being able to rotate through very different flavor profiles amongst different brands.  Another good option for some excellent cigars is to do a piramid sampler. Nothing against Robustos (they have a sampler here too and there are some great ones), but there are some very special cuban piramides like the Monte 2, Diplomatico 2, Vegas Robaina Unico, Bolivar Belicoso Finos,  Partagás Series P No 2, etc.

Good luck!

Honestly, all the cc's I have been getting recently are 2019 and 2020, and they have all been smokable immediately in my opinion.

The general consensus I get is that 2019 and 2020 have been exceptionally good years for cc's
