Popular Post NSXCIGAR Posted March 1, 2021 Popular Post Posted March 1, 2021 It's been a while so I picked up a box in Dec. Heard some good things about the 18-19 MSU so went for it. NIce dark Colorado wrapper. Thin and smooth. Draw is perfect. 1st half: solid start. Definitely a BCJ. Leather some earth and I do get a tinge of the great dried fruitiness. Not enough to make this great unfortunately, but soild. Last third: more of the same. Construction was good. Flavors consistent. Solid 91-92. Definitely better than many of the BCJ I've had in the last 5-7 years. They're just so close to making these great. Needs a little more earth and dried fruitiness. Just needs a little boost. If I could just get my hands on this leaf I know I could make these things cook. A good cigar, but one that always frustrates me as I just see what could be. Maybe something could let loose after 5 more years. For my money, I just think the El Principe is a better experience. I would put these on par with the RASCC I've recently had. 10
Habana Mike Posted March 1, 2021 Posted March 1, 2021 BCJ, RASSC and El Principe all relatively underrated for what they can deliver when on. I guess too small for the majority of smokers these days.... 2
smbauerllc Posted March 1, 2021 Posted March 1, 2021 Nice review, and very timely as I'm planning to try out a few with my next order Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
KCCubano Posted March 2, 2021 Posted March 2, 2021 I think you hit the nail on the head! A superb BCJ needs those elements as you described. I think my 09s and 10s were as close to this as any other years. Not a code chaser but LRE in 09 or 10 were 95 pointers. Me and many others in my club were buying these up quickly.
