Popular Post sho671 Posted March 1, 2021 Popular Post Posted March 1, 2021 This was my first time trying an Atabey. The construction was perfect. The burn line was tight and the draw was just right. It was a fairly short smoke so I didn't notice real transitions but I picked up some sweetness and an odd salty and musty grass/hay note. I've heard people rave about Atabeys but they're a little pricey and I'm not sure if I'm a fan. I do have two more Hechizos, so we'll see if how they smoke. 2/5 6 1
Cairo Posted March 1, 2021 Posted March 1, 2021 With high end NCs I am a very patient scavenger. Most of them end up at the online "clearance table" with ridiculous discounts if you have the patience to wait (sometimes several years). I will pick up some to try at that point--and no sooner.... 1
Walter19 Posted March 1, 2021 Posted March 1, 2021 Very good cigars, but really steep pricing. Black Friday sales, you can get them for about 30% off.
cigcars Posted March 3, 2021 Posted March 3, 2021 **Hunted up and got this cigar - was majorly disappointed because there was no flavor, no aroma - would have gotten just as much satisfaction as pursing my lips and sucking bare air than this dang thing. NO satisfaction, whatsoever. Have gotten more flavor, taste and satisfaction out of a machine munched "Cuban Sandwich" cigar. 1
xsquid Posted March 5, 2021 Posted March 5, 2021 I tried the robusto and toro size by whatever goofy name they call them. I had to see what the hype was all about. Yes, well constructed, great burn, good smoke output, but very muted flavor mostly hay and grass notes. Not worth the cost. My step son had one and we both concluded just get an Ashton for 30% the price and it has some more layers of flavor. Chalk this up to cigar marketing and hype but I had to see for myself. Been through this in the wine world also, so not surprised.
