Webbo Posted February 23, 2021 Posted February 23, 2021 Can second or third..Vietnam and particularly Hoi An. In the evening after the crowds have left the town is truly magical. I had a Mag 46 and several cosmopolitans in a small side street bar that was projecting an old Hitchcock film on the wall of an old tea house opposite. Will never forget that night and that town (or the girl who was the love of my life and I lost). Do it. 2

Have a few big salmon I've lost that still haunt my dreams!!! Expand I have been after a wild, non sea run 30 inch brown brown trout for about twenty years. The rules were simple. Fly rod only, No spawning fish, (unethical), had to be in moving water, and couldnt be near a dam. So basically the trout had to be born in the river. Had my chances 3 times on the Yellowstone river. One fish on the mouse on the full moon at night, busted me off. The other two were also on the Yellowstone river both ocean size streamers over six inches long in the middle of winter. My buddy head butted one with a net on the drift boat that was easily a 15 pounder. I did manage to catch a 28 inch brown. Not good enough. The Stone owns me bro. I am the greatest farmer on the Yellowstone river, period. Those fish i still remember vividly. Its those fish i lost that keep me coming back for more. Nothing like getting your a$@ handed to you. Its a humbling sport for sure 2

He was a true sportsman and taught me the right way. I am grateful for that and the time he spent teaching me how to fly fish when i was super young. My dad still uses a bamboo rod and wont tie anything up that isnt natural. So basically he is a purist. He still tears into em with that ole bamboo rod too!!! 2
