HdM Epicure #1 LGR FEB 19 (PDLRW)

This cigar was a bodyguard in a sampler that I picked up a few months ago. It has a very nice looking oily wrapper, a solid roll, naturally it’s been calling out to me.

 

I smoked this cigar on Valentine’s Day. We got a puppy last month and so we are taking him to the Puppy Kindergarten. On the way home, it was lunch time, and we were coming up on the White Castle nearby. I love White Castle. I mean love it. So we decided to pull in and grab some burgers to bring home for lunch. Unbeknownst to me, White Castle does a special event every year on Valentine’s Day!! During Covid it’s a bit different, they did a carhop style event with hearts painted in the roped off parking spaces. They even had these cool boxes!

 

 

Now that lunch is over, it was time for the cigar. Guillotine cut gives me an excellent draw. Cold taste is offering up sweet cedar and some citrus (pencil shavings type of flavor).

 

The cigar started out very promising with cedar and citrus on the palate, sweet aromas coming off the foot. Shaping up to be a very nice HdM experience.

 

Unfortunately as I got into the 2/3 this cigar did not burn the greatest. It had a tendency to want to go out which required several touch ups and more frequent puffing than I prefer. The flavors were still good, but not as good as it could have been. This cigar left me disappointed and dreaming about what could have been.

 

Overall: 2.5/5 (good, not great)

Love White Castle!  I find it easier to just eat them in the bathroom.

Most of the Epi 1s I’ve had recently have been stellar, bummer you struck out here, but give it another go

Unfortunate to hear your less than stellar experience with the no 1.  When those things have some age on them they're delicious.  (imo)

Disappointing to hear about the cigar. Even more disappointing that there was no picture of the puppy!.
