Popular Post Bijan
My 9th cigar from the Christmas sampler. Way overweight at 29% overweight. But construction looks good. Barnyard aroma at cold, but sweet. Predraw flavour of cream or butter. 12mm punch and draw is a bit tight, two small hits of perfecdraw and draw is snug but acceptable. Since the Quai d'Orsay 54 I reviewed last got bitter in the second half I smoked this one a lot slower to avoid what seems to be a known issue with Quai d'Orsay cigars and smoking too fast. First third: Open with brioche french toast flavour. Extremely pleasant. After a minute or 2 becomes mainly ginger. Stays ginger for about 15 minutes. Then back to brioche but minus the french toast. Second third: Brioche throughout with occasional hints of the french toast flavour. Citrus peel towards the middle of the third but not bitter as was the case with the QD54. Towards the end of the third hints of cinnamon. Final third: Starts stronger with woody/toasty flavour in addition to the brioche. The middle of this third is very bland, sort of a mild tea flavour I sometimes get at the end of a cigar. I almost stop there, but I go on and the final third is brioche again. One hour and 42 minutes to close to a nub. This is a long time for me, about as long as my last Esplendidos. I'd rate this just under a 4/5. Wish it had more of that sweet/creamy french toast flavour. And didn't love that bland part of the final third. I might possibly get a quarter box, but wouldn't get a full box. Weather was 4C/39F and humidity in the 80s. Of the limited editions in the Christmas sampler I rank them: 1. Supremos 4.5/5 review 2. Senadores 4/5 3. Propios 3/5 review 12

When I did the first review a week ago (it seems longer now), I was planning on doing one, maybe two since it was getting cold. I even picked the smallest one to start off with. Then on the second review @Boxer31 asked if I was trying to finish them all before it got too cold, and I thought well why not.
Islandboy
Nice review! I’ve now had all 3 of the EL’s you listed, totally agree that the Propios is the weakest performer, and just not the right size for me. The Senadores and Supremo were both very good, but I found my Senadores just edged out my Supremo, probably just because I found its taste profile a tad more exotic and interesting.
