El Presidente Posted October 20, 2020 Posted October 20, 2020 I just don't smoke enough of them to know. I don't like them enough to find out. Over to you fine people for a hand in answering this one "am considering the purchase of VEGUEROS - TAPADOS. How long do you recommend aging them? Could I smoke them within a year of purchase?"
NSXCIGAR Posted October 20, 2020 Posted October 20, 2020 The only Vegueros I find smokeable is the Entretiempos. The others taste about the same and don't impress me including the Tapados. Shame, since I like the vitola.

JC67 Posted October 20, 2020 Posted October 20, 2020 Tapados are pretty good for an everyday smoke IMHO... smoke now
NSXCIGAR Posted October 20, 2020 Posted October 20, 2020 Does anyone think the Tapados stands out among the other models all? Anyone smoke only Tapados?
Cairo Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 I have some 2014 Tapados that I really enjoy--have never tried younger ones.
LordAnubis Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 i had an aged box of mananitas and loved it, sweet earthy notes. Have had fresh tapados and i think they were just ok but had more of a rich tobacco flavour with some earth mixed in. I think they are def a tin you can buy as filler for an order and just trow it in the back of your humidor for a few years. I think at their price though they're not worth it young. For less money you can get HUHC.

The problem is they aren't that cheap. The packaging is a bit deceptive. At 16s they can keep the price under $100 but that breaks down to about $5.50-6.00 each which is about the same cost by mass as everything else. I do miss the old Vegueros No 1 and No. 2. They were very high quality cigars with the most wonderful fresh, grassy and herbal taste. These new ones just taste like sour hay to me. 1

I don't buy Vegueros so never did the math, I just see them in the cheap and cheerful section regularly. Anything over $5 each is not quite cheap and cheerful anymore (especially at almost PC weight).
