Popular Post El Presidente Posted September 22, 2020 Popular Post Posted September 22, 2020 I have seen plenty of red belly black snakes over the years.......but nothing close to this A Queensland snake catcher had to wrangle a huge red-bellied black snake out of a creek after the highly-venemous reptile was found in a local school. Stuart McKenzie of Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers was called to relocate the thick black serpent last week and was stunned by its size. He said almost all the jobs he'd been called out to recently had been "larger than usual". 3 2
IanMcLean68 Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 Black snakes like the red-belly are venomous, but usually not deadly. They are usually fairly placid snakes that are hesitant to strike. They are good to have around, as they are king snakes (snake eaters) that keep the deadly venomous brown snakes and tiger snakes in check. They can grow even bigger than this, but sadly we don't often see them this big anymore. 1

Fuzz Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 It's snake mating season, so you're gonna see a lot more of them around.

westg Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 I remember Steve Irwin being tagged by one . Of course he had picked it up and antagonized it for five minutes first.
