Bolivar Royal Coronas 18 (FFC)

I decided to make one of my favorite appetizers Ahi Tuna Crisps. The Jalapenos I picked up for this had the heat of bell peppers which was a little disappointing but they were still amazing. The sour cream has wasabi in it which really adds to the flavor.

It was chilly out for May here so I had to wear a jacket. I decided to pair some Tequila with this cigar. This is from my second ever order from our esteemed host when I purchased several singles. I purchased one of these knowing this would probably be one of the strongest cigars of the bunch. I enjoy almost all cigars even full bodied cigars but I don't smoke them as much as other cigars. I figured it was time to finally try this Marca. After cutting cold draw was light cocoa. The wrapper was amazing a ton of sheen.

First third.

It starts out a little more mild than expected but stronger than many of the cigars I usually smoke. I get coffee and cocoa right away.

Second third it really starts to pick up I get some coffee but a more cocoa and leather starts to show up. There is also a touch of cedar. One thing I noticed is that this cigars smoke contains some floral notes. One of the first questions I asked on this forum was CC that had floral notes. I used to smoke some Madura Hdm NC that had tons of floral notes.

Final third is mostly coffee, leather, cedar, and light pepper. Maybe some bitter chocolate. It definitely has that very earthy flavor. The burn was very great except for one small spot where it started to tunnel but a quick relight and it got past it. I don't see myself buying a box but I will grab a six pack from 24:24. I will also have to try the Boiivar Belicosos Finos since I love pyramids. This cigar delivers some deep flavors without getting too strong.
