Popular Post TTP21 Posted May 4, 2020 Popular Post Posted May 4, 2020 After a year into CC, I've not settled on any vitola, rather I allow for variety much like I did as an NC smoker for 10+ years. I've acquired 4 boxes of 52+ and 6 of 42 and under. The PLMC is one of my favorite CC's. You're not smoking a cigar that will win any major accolades, but that said, a PLMC is consistently good, often very good. Couple that with a per price stick of about 4 dollars and you'd be hard pressed to find a better buy in this hobby of ours. Burn/Construction: Zero issues. Draw is a bit tight, but I prefer that to a light draw. First third: Toasted tobacco, coffee, a unique sweetness that is akin to a citrusy Cuban twang but a bit more sweet. The PLPC also has this flavor profile for me. Some rough edges, mongrel-ish, but that's perhaps due to my draws being a bit too aggressive. Second third: Slow, slow sips. 3 to 4 draws replace a normal draw and this cigar takes it to another level. Same flavors above, some almost floral notes as well. I also get a few Snickers bar draws - caramel, nuts, chocolate, without a hint of harsh. Roasted caramel. Final third: Life beckons and I can't finish this one. Made up for it with a CoSho. Cohiba Short: I am amazed every time. This one focused in on the honey and grassiness, with a smoke output that boggles the mind. Tons of chewy, delicious smoke. I've got a decent amount of these and am happy for that fact. I'm tempted to give the Trinidad Shorts an attempt, but I have zero experience with that Marca so I think I'll hold off. Score: 93/100 for the PLMC. The Cohiba's are either very good, good, or bad, with this one being very good. 7
smitte3 Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 Thanks for the reviews. I have both of these in the mail, looking forward to them!
Phillys Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 Great Review, the PLMC and CoSho are both favorites of mine. On the Trinidad Shorts, mine were a bit harsh when I received them, unlike the Cohibas, but have quite opened up flavor-wise, I would definitely dip my toe if I were you, you might be pleasantly surprised. 1
