Popular Post PrairieSmoke Posted April 12, 2020 Popular Post Posted April 12, 2020 I had this wounded single in my drawer and this comp gave me an excuse to pull it out. I love a nice long smoke and I’m also a fan of the tapered top of the 109s. One of my all time favorites CCs is the Dip Bushido. Anyway, I was starting out with high hopes for this cigar. You can see the wrapper issue on the foot that was repaired with Perfec Repair. First Third: Draw is perfect. I'm greeted right off the bat with a warm buttered roll profile with just a hint of sweetness. There is some white pepper on the retro. I’m also getting some nuttiness -- closest to a cashew flavor. Solidly medium bodied cigar at this point. I did have some burn issues that i’m associating with the repair job. Second Third: That buttery bread profile is still there, but it's being challenged by a woodiness (oak lumber?) and some citrus twang in the second third. White pepper is still present and I'm not really getting the cashews anymore. Sweetness has receded. Cigar feels more like medium-full with the woodiness really making itself known. Final Third: The cigar really starts to show its youth in this final third. There is a mint flavor that comes in alongside the oaky notes. The bread notes are pretty well gone here and the body is medium-full. Needed a few touch-ups and re-lights in this final third. Conclusion: This is already a pretty good cigar. I’d give it a 90 with its best days still ahead of it. I think the oak/mint will recede some allowing other parts of the cigars profile to come through as it ages -- it was fairly dominant in the single example I smoked here. 15
havanaclub Posted April 12, 2020 Posted April 12, 2020 The one I had was excellent. The rest of the box will be rested for a little while longer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1

I was in Cancun and had several cocktails before the cigar. I do recall it being the best cigar I smoked on that trip, next to a Sig VI, Lusi and Trova. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
Puros Y Vino Posted April 12, 2020 Posted April 12, 2020 I smoked one last week. It was exceptional. I only had the 1 single. I wish I had a box. A few days earlier I had a Bushido and it was 1

Islandboy Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 Nice review! This gives me hope. The one I had a few months back had a strange floral taste - like bubble gum - that I didn’t care for at all. I hope it was the outlier of the box. 1

I've been intrigued by these and hoping to try one at some point. Strangely enough, I like the 'bubble gum' flavors I've gotten from Juan Lopez, etc., but maybe it's not the same note you're describing. 1

Sounds like an outlier.
Tstew75 Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 Your LGC tasting notes are dead on for the marca...buttered roll, cashew, white pepper, wood. Nice review. I agree these need some serious time. If you want a LGC thats great out of the gate, try the Invictos ER Italy. They are smoking the house down right now. 1

I haven’t dipped into the couple Invictos I have yet.
