I tried google and the search function and could not find what I’m looking for. Although I’m sure it’s on here somewhere, can anyone give me theirs input on petit tubos compared to the monte. 4?  Was looking at picking up some no. 4’s but was wondering if the tubos would be a better move buying blind.

Thanks!

Personally I love the #4's. I like the tubos as well...but dont buy anymore due to mold issues...but that was a while ago. 4's are a safe blind buy

Have never dabbled in the Monte tubos, but I was always told by some experienced people here that buying Montecristo blind is risky due to the sheer volume of cigars they produce every year.  If I HAD to buy 4's or tubos blind, I'd go 4's

Can't speak to the tubos, but I am also kinda turned off on them for the same reason, but to me, the highest volume cigars are the riskiest blind buys. Monte 4, Monte 2. Romeo y Julieta...anything. They make sooo many Monte 4's and the more experienced can correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that the newer rollers start off on things like that, creating a higher risk of duds in the process. Add to the fact that thinner cigars have a propensity to being packed tight, and personally I'm of the mindset after making some mistakes that a blind buy of Monte or Romeos is a risky endeavor. 24:24 or bust for me with those.

Don’t know about buying blind but I like the tubos more than the no.4. They’re a a tad richer, deeper, stronger. Just better IMO.

Thank you for the replies. I found some tubos for about the same price as the no. 4 so I think I’m going to go with those first. I’ve had some no. 4 ‘s before but no tubos yet.

I am smoking my way through a second box of petit tubos which are nearly identical to #4 and I have smoked many more #4s than petit tubos.  One real positive is both boxes of petit tubos were comparatively older than any of the #4s.  They may set around longer?

Less popular and a little more $ than the no. 4.  I’m guessing that’s why

The only reason I don't buy a lot of the petite tubos are due to the box size.
