Popular Post El Presidente Posted January 14, 2020 Popular Post Posted January 14, 2020 I hadn't tried this whisky before but both Ken and I thought it paired beautifully with a Siglo V yesterday. I think it would go exceptionally well with any Cohiba as it makes the citrus and honey in the cigar absolutely sing. Keep an eye out for it. 10
kwsaw63 Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 I’ve noticed a trend of peaty whiskies that have been aged in Sherry casks like this one. From the ones I’ve tried the smoky sweet flavors really go well with a cigar.
BoliDan Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 Love this distillery. This is a new one that is slightly cheaper than their flagship 12 year. It tends to be a pricey brand but always a fantastic complex Islay. Find me a lonsdale that doesn't compliment Bunnahabhain, that's my challenge. .

I found it quite enjoyable particularly the slight salinity in the delivery. If you like this whisky, you should try Old Pulteney 12. it's a brilliant 'maritime' whisky with a really easy drinking sweet/salty balance. Goes wonderfully well with a Colonials or an SPBeli ,..........and its also cheaper! Sells in the UK for £25 which is pretty much the best whisky bargain going 1

The best one of the bunch (in my opinion at least) was also the cheapest, the 12 year. The wood in the older expressions imparted too much influence on the spirit. Much like cigars just because it costs more doesn't make it better! 1
Ken Gargett Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 talk about spoilers for the vid review! but i agree. one thing, for an islay, very little of the peaty notes. but a terrific whisky.
