Today, 11 through 25 

I will post 1-10 this weekend. 

 

"From my records, I have gone through the top cigars for 2019 in terms of quality.  Now for a cigar to have been eligible, I needed to have seen a minimum of four mastercases during the 2019 period. Plenty of great cigars just missed out. The Quai D’Orsay 50, Juan Lopez Seleccion 2,  Partagas Serie E Number 2 were all on the cusp. Rafael Gonzalez Petit Corona and Vegas Robaina Famoso, Partagas Serie D 5 etc,  I just didn’t see the requisite quantity. Some cigars had a great half of the year but were let down at some period.   Tabacuba have generally done an excellent job of getting some consistency into big production cigars such as the Monte 4 and Monte 2 through 2019.  Others such as the D4 and most of the minuto’s struggled. Some such as the Montecristo Media Corona I left off as while I saw a lot of boxes, they were from 2016-17. 

To put the below in perspective, just over 20,000 boxes were inspected this year."

What a line up! There’s only one thing to do: “Collect them All”, right @slowsmoke?  Still cracks me up every time I see your profile up on a board.

La trova and lancero surprising. Seems like lanceros are always psp and la trova I guess r clearance but fine so fast. Maybe more hype then quality ?

If you are in the top 25........that is an excellent result 

For perspective, it means that they are in the top 25% of total cigars produced (thereabouts).

Surprised BBF and CoRo were outside the top 10.  On 24:24 so often and your praising them in 93-94 flavor wise.  But granted over an entire year I'm sure they both had plenty of ups and downs.

And then once you have them all, you, uh, just buy more of each ?

I think this is more of a ratio of psp and hq to pe rather than how they smoked and ranked flavor wise. That would be quite a daunting task to judge 20k boxes by how they smoked and ranked in taste. I think our dear host would be dead had this been the case and a happy death in the name of science would it be!

time for everybody to revise their lists of guesses?  This certainly narrows it down (though I'd be willing to be there will still be at least a couple of shockers in the top 10).

Wow. As much hoopla made over the ESL Mag50, I’m utterly shocked it isn’t top 5.  

Really thought the Rio Seco was a top 10 lock.
