Popular Post Akela3rd Posted December 9, 2019 Popular Post Posted December 9, 2019 Ah, the lowly Aristocrat - one of my favourite cigars and a much overlooked and underrated one at that. I do believe that the sub $4.00 price tag puts people off, making them assume that it's just a hastily knocked up floor sweepings job. Not so. Long filler and generally well made is the truth of the matter. This particular one looked the part - slight sheen, firm with a slight give to the body and no large veins on show. V cut and a deep barnyard with a hint of sweetness on the cold draw. On lighting the sweetness was still there with the familiar Partagas bite underneath. There's definitely a mild bitterness but I've come to know and like that and actively seek it out when the mood takes me. The burn was good and the cigar gave me plenty of clean tasting smoke. Vegetal, occasionally floral.Into the second third the sweetness developed into a darker molasses tone, burnt caramel. The burn line had a little wonk but nothing major. Definitely Partagas, similar to the Shorts but darker. The final third saw the strength up a little bit still remain under full. Not a huge amount of complexity but that's not what they're for, they're simply a satisfying, tasty (and surprisingly cheap) little cigar. Same size as a HdM du Prince, and 50 minutes of pure pleasure. 8/10 Sent from 47171 Lempo 6 1
Burningman Posted December 9, 2019 Posted December 9, 2019 Thanks for posting. The cheap and cheerful cigars rarely get reviewed. I feel Partagas has the most cigars in the 5 USD and under range that outperform their price tags.
PigFish Posted December 9, 2019 Posted December 9, 2019 Thanks for sharing mate. Nice review. Cheers! -the Pig

Akela3rd Posted December 9, 2019 Author Posted December 9, 2019 Come on brother, be good to yourself, I quite often have lime burns on my hands (not hitman related) and this stuff sorts it out a treatI had the cigar straight after work and before commencing my usual rigorous beauty regimen, which involves using an angle grinder to remove calluses followed by moisturising. My preferred product being lard. Sent from 47171 Lempo 1
