Hello guys,

Will be going to Gilbraltar soon. My main objective there is to check out different shops for aged/discontinued cigars and perhaps buy a few boxes for myself. For those who have been there, I have a couple questions.

1.From what I read on older posts, people seem to have most of their shopping done at the LCDH, are there any other shops worthy of checking out?

2.What is the strategy to buy more than 50 cigars there? Is it similar to Andorra where I book a hotel outside of the border and make multiple trips in and out of the city?

3.Any other activities (sightseeing, shopping, restaurants etc) that you recommend in Gilbraltar?

4.I will be in Morocco->Gilbratar->Madrid in early Oct, if you are around I'd love to have a cigar with you.

Cheers

Sounds like a cool trip.

FYI the shops in Madrid close early, and are closed all day Sunday!

There's a new LCDH in Marrakech since I was there last. Let us know if you check it out. Don't miss Fes, my favorite city in Morocco!

@Blackham

Have been very close to it but never been to the Rock.

1) But, AFAIK there is only one place to buy and that is Stagnettos LCDH - you might have other cigs and cigar shops - me personally would only buy there. Great folks.

2) Yep, like Andorra, I'd park the car at La Linea - the border - and walk/bus across and do like 5 trips if need be. Algeciras is nearby hotel wise.

3 & 4 ) No idea but for the Rock apes ... ?

You might want to contact Stagnettos and get some better details to your questions - they are extremely helpful people.

Have a good trip

Some good stock at Stagnettos, but they definitely don't have aged stock like they used to (they were cleared out after the Brexit pound drop). They'll still probably have quite a few boxes with 3-4 years of age.

I bought my first ever box of CCs online from Stagnetto’s - VR Famosos.  Good memories...

Stagnettos had great aged stock at least through 2017, but I had a friend check it out a few months ago and it’s all current stuff now.

Gibraltar is awesome to visit though.

Never know what you might find if you visit and ask nicely.....

Say hi to Loren.

The cigars at the airport duty free is also stocked by Stagnettos. Obviously not a great selection but useful if you want to pick up a few extras on the way out.

Gibraltar also has the cheapest Cuban rum I've ever seen, even cheaper than in Cuba!

Thank you for everyone's informative feedback. Stay tune for October I'll post a report

They sometimes have aged cigars, but not plenty. Alberto is very pleasant person, as well as Loren and Joe. I've been there 3 times and customs have checked my bags ones. But you can cross the border many times a day. There's a huge parking area at the border in La Linea

Check out the caves in Gibralter.  There's also bus tours for 2 -3 hours.

The main square / shopping area has all kinds of cafes and shops.

As for cigar shops - I had the terrible misfortune of being there during some "bank holiday" and all the cigar shops were closed.
