Popular Post 99call Posted April 1, 2019 Popular Post Posted April 1, 2019 Partagas Presidente GOS 18 Aroma at cold: wet bark, rich tobacco, cane sugar sweetness Cold Draw: rich sweet tobacco, raw manuka sweetness 1st 3rd Really can’t see the power in this others are picking. Maybe I just have light bodied box. Strait from the off. Creamy mushroom, and vanilla sweetness. A juxtaposition of a a cigar. heavy forest floor aspects, porcini, wet bark paprika, but also…cuddly and lovely vanilla and marshmallow. one of the most pleasurable retro’s out there. 2nd 3rd Would agree with Rob, this would be lovely with a anejo rum. The retro has began to pinch. maybe this does have a little kick?. I bit of fizziness on the palate. Couldn’t think of a better cigar for a country walk, there is something so evocative about this cigar. As I’ve said before, this juncture of the cigar is like a rich savoury peppercorn sauce, or maybe even Goulash poured over a toasted marshmallow. just gorgeous. 3rd 3rd The only slight criticism of this cigar is, because its framed profile, is so tight and melded, it doesn’t feel like a cigar with much evolution, is sort of delivers an knock out punch, but there is no combination in the flurry, it’s just upper cut after upper cut. I will add, if you register fungal flavours as dirty or unrefined……you will not like this cigar. I don’t see these aspects as dirty, rather full of umami, and mouth watering. …………….it actually does have a pretty robust finish, but I think with a year or so, it will be more uniform. Conclusion If your bored of generic endless roll outs of cigars that take no risks in their blending, and your looking for something truly unique, these are a cigar that make you feel like you’ve cheated the system. i.e 25 special cigars and you haven’t had to pay an arm and a leg for. yes! you won’t be able to flip them……but why would you want to? Score 91, punching well above its price point. 9
aphexafx Posted April 1, 2019 Posted April 1, 2019 Music to my ears, really. I mean, I like a long, evolving smoke as much as anyone. But I adore a punchy, stand out. Give me the robust finish. Taste the vega. Can't wait to give mine a go this summer. Great review and good luck to ya. ? 1
TheMonk Posted April 1, 2019 Posted April 1, 2019 The Presidente really is a great value for money cigar, IMO. Excellent review, thanks for sharing! 1
