I am surprised that XIKAR invented USB cigar lighter for travelling in this year! However, will it give precise sharp razor burn as torch lighters? What would you guys think about this lighter? I think I might stick with FOH Travel Torch Lighter instead in my opinion unless this one proves to be useful by many cigar aficionados in my opinion...

I don't know how to feel about this.

Who wants to be the guinea pig?

It is still on development progress by the way. I am not sure whether I would experiment this as guinea pig or not... ?

They didn’t actually develop anything. A different company Fuego had come out with that lighter and they licensed their product to be resold as a Xikar.

Thanks! I forgot to mention that it is actually developed by other company

Nope. Can’t relight or touch up. Just... why?

$10 torch, done.
Same goes on me. Rather use FOH torch instead.

No problem. :)

I should mention though that I heard it works quite well and I've been thinking of getting one. You can forget about touching up lit cigars though. he he

I had one of those in my first vehicle, 1967 Chevrolet C10 truck, wasn’t USB though

So it is just like a jumbo car cigarette lighter?

I think it is slightly upgraded version to cigar version IMHO.

XIKAR one seems to be a combination of electronic and USB lighter though.

Agreed. When i travel by plane, i just buy a torch and a guillotine (~$20 total) on amazon and have it shipped to myself wherever I’ll be staying. Hit a hardware store for a bottle of butane when i get there and I’m good to go.

I would rather get torch lighters than using this USB lighter... ????

Yeah i looked into them when they started coming out. The tesla coil induction is super cool, and i like the idea of it being rechargeable rather than refuelable, but it just doesn’t cut the mustard.

If I can’t have a torch, i carry cedar - the pieces that come in each box of cigars. I light the cedar with a bic, then use the cedar to light my cigar. ?

The design itself makes difficult to relight also! FoH lighter does a trick mostly in planes right??

AFAIK no torches are permitted by tsa regulations. I could be wrong though.

FOH lighter ( like others like it) comes apart into three pieces and uses a bic type lighter without the wheel. When you assemble it, it is a torch when disassembled and pieces kept in different bags or spots I’ve never had an issue traveling with it. Lighter can be refilled when needed.

Neat! I did not know that!

I have the Fuego unit, still use it occasionally. I picked my own battery controller that has variable wattage so the burner/mesh is variable temperature.

It lights a cigar.

It is different method if you are into that- and obviously flameless. I enjoy it.

Do you use it during travelling?

Ok I’ve been using the fuego heating element for about a week without any help from fire.  I’m liking it. Touch ups are easy, hold unlit edge of foot over edge of heating element with cigar at 90 degrees or so.

Well the lighter in my 67 chevy works just fine! why do I need one that will probably ignite in my pocket when I lean against the counter. Sometimes pigs dont need lipstick.
