So far on this trip, I have been mistaken for a Mexican, a Brazilian, and a Colombian. It must be that haircut I got in Miami! Lesson learned, never get a haircut in Miami!

Popular Post ElJavi76 Posted November 21, 2018 Popular Post Posted November 21, 2018 So many new friends. So many indelible memories made. So many emotions. We even had the privilege of watching el maestro Ramón Valle, a very decorated Cuban Pianist play with the Riccioti Ensemble from Holland at the F.A.C. on Thursday night. After the show we chatted and exchanged exile stories. He now lives in the Netherlands. He hugged me like he knew me forever. Like a brother. Most Cubans I interacted with there made me feel as if I had never left. We all know it has its shortcomings, but I'm so proud to be Cuban. Magical place. 16
bayala Posted November 21, 2018 Posted November 21, 2018 Absolute pleasure meeting everyone for the first time / in person for the first time. I think a trip down under is necessary! 4

Popular Post Drguano Posted November 22, 2018 Popular Post Posted November 22, 2018 Another great trip, what I remember of it! Here are some of the images I captured in no particular order... 6
oliverdst Posted November 22, 2018 Posted November 22, 2018 I am so sorry we could not talk that day when you were living Villanueva. I had to go straight to the toilet. I didn't want to be rude. Sorry if I didn't give you the attention you deserved. I insist next time we met we have at least a cigar and a rum. PS: ambulance? Everything ok? 2

When nature calls in Havana, it is best not to let it go to voicemail! We will meet again. Regarding the ambulance, we stayed right on the Malecon where the Havana Marathon was under way.

Ryan Posted November 22, 2018 Posted November 22, 2018 Great to see everyone, only sorry we didn't have more time.. A highlight was Saturday afternoon, listening to (most of) Ireland v New Zealand on the roof of the Hotel Raquel. Stuart was getting cheapish data on his Jersey phone (must be an islandy thing), I connected to his phone to stream the game through my Irish radio-player app then connected to the speaker through bluetooth. When the connection dropped, we didn't know where to begin. Though there was drink taken. Celebrating the win Still celebrating later "that day" Met some friends along the way. Friends who had woken up in the security room of the Habana Libre at 2 pm that afternoon, after the Gala dinner the night before (then shared cigars and rum with the security staff). 3
El Presidente Posted November 22, 2018 Author Posted November 22, 2018 That was one of the great afternoons indeed

El Presidente Posted July 31, 2019 Author Posted July 31, 2019 Well don marte. Well done ......If I was there I would have warned you. Brilliant effort getting them home 1
Habana Mike Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 Made by Jessel Rodriguez. He's had a couple others auctioned at the festival and has another different one coming up this year as well. We caught up for smokes at Alex's shop in April when down. Wonderful gent. That's him on the left in the picture here from the 2017 festival http://www.opciones.cu/cuba/2017-11-23/un-hasta-siempre-a-los-amigos-de-partagas/ It's a unique, beautiful and very well-made piece for sure. It was like having a baby. Expectations and almost nine months later.
