Some feedback please...

"Clubs" is a forum feature that we've been considering ramping-up the use of. We currently don't use it at all, so that shouldn't be too hard to get going in the right direction.  

Clubs are used to start groups for a particular interest: e.g. Photography, Films, Fishing, Pigeon Fondling, whatever floats your boat...

Any member can start one, at which point you become the key-master to allow others to join, but all Clubs are first vetted for approval--all jokes aside, not every subject will be deemed appropriate. As always, we only want positive arenas of discussion for this community. 

So, Clubs are essentially a sub-forum created by members, with member control--you can assign moderators, too. However, existing FOH Admins & Mods can still adjudicate on content. In sum, if there's a topic you think you'd love to delve into on a more regular basis (outside the Waterhole) and you believe other members would feel similarly, then you can crank up a Club to cater for it. 

Anyhow, that's it in a nutshell... Thoughts? Interest? Questions?

Hi that's a great idea....I'd like to start a skydiving club.....
Let's see how many cigar smoking skydivers we have out there.

Would be a great place for FOH members, residing in the same city/location, to start a local forum. Watering holes,  cigar friendly locations, etc. if anyone in their respective forum is brave enough, setup/coordinate a smoking event where the FOH locals can meet and smoke.

I think it would dilute the activity and content on the waterhole. Worth a short mind.

I've never joined my national underground network ( I understand the initial reasoning ) - mainly because I've kind of felt it took away from the overall feel of the house. Not against the clubs or networks at all - whatever works for members.

Maybe we can have a sports desk club?!

Yes. You and I could mod that one. No bias whatsoever. Anything that is pro Red Sox, Bruins, Celtics, and Patriots is fine.

seriously, i'd be banned again within days.

pros - broncos (talking Aussie rugby league), skins, gunners, reds (qld rugby), wallabies (if they'd lift their game) and the glorious qld origin side. plus anything cricket. 

cons - cowgirls, iggles and hapless giants; manspew, anything nsw, anything kiwi unless they are playing something from nsw. pretty much anything pommy though the conundrum is when kiwis play poms. 0-0 or washed out.

@MoeFOH -  Would Club posts roll up to the global unread posts list?  I.e., this: https://www.friendsofhabanos.com/forum/discover/unread/?&view=condensed  This seems pretty essential for most people to keep up with goings-on!

Excellent question. One I don't have an immediate answer for. We'll be doing some background testing on Clubs over the next couple of weeks. So I'll have an answer for you soon.

I think this might take away a bit from the general forum, unless we curate what kind of clubs are approved. It'd have to be on a 1 by 1 basis.  Then again, there is no harm in trying.

Suffering from a fair bit of social anxiety, I too stayed clear of local underground clubs, for fear of meeting nice land interesting local people online and be compelled to hide for fear of actually meeting them. ?

So as long as it's not local clubs only, I'm not opposed.
