Popular Post mbflash80 Posted October 2, 2018 Popular Post Posted October 2, 2018 I've been purchasing a fair amount of cigars from John over the past year...ok who am I BS'ing...I've been buying a lot of cigars from John over the past year. I've pretty much loved everything from his "EL" line. This review is for the relatively new "Majestuoso". I received the cigars last week and promptly did the whole 24/48/24 fridge/freezer/fridge process. I would normally store the cigars for a minimum of 30 days after the process before I smoked one. However in this case curiosity and the potential urgency of needing to invest in another bundle got me...so away we went with only 1 day of humi time: The aroma of the cigar before cutting was fairly standard cuban...nothing that hinted at what was to come. Draw was perfect so I lit the foot and started off. Initially the burn was a little sideways (I can hear you all saying "yea jackass what do you want when you smoke a cigar fresh from the freezer?") but it corrected itself quite quickly. The initial flavors were very powerful. I can best describe them as a nuclear flavor bomb of cuban twang. I was very impressed by what was going on here. The cigar had the promising of being in the league with some of my all time favorite smokes. Could it continue... Short answer...hell yes it could! While the flavors did not drastically change, the strength pulled back just a bit as I continued smoking. when I smoke new cigars I often try and make some kind of mental reference point as to something similar I may have smoked in the past. This might be just mindful coloring of exaggerated or perceived memories but this cigar had me stuck on the reference point of what it used to taste like to smoke 2008 TEB smokes fresh...they just blew me away...thats what this one did. Given the fact that I did not give this cigar a fair chance to acclimate, the potential on this one is very high in my mind. I cant wait to revisit it in the coming weeks...the smoke capped off a very up and down weekend for me...had a dear family member pass away on Saturday after a long battle with Cancer...but enjoyed Judas Priest on saturday night with my 14 year old...who somehow doesnt think her Dad is lame for liking Judas Priest...but rather thinks its quite cool...how lucky can one guy be? Cheers FOH!! MB 14
mbflash80 Posted October 2, 2018 Author Posted October 2, 2018 not sure why the pics came out all mangled sideways...sorry fellas!
joshhooper7 Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 I really need to get myself a few bundles of Johns cigars. I've read mixed reviews but at the price point they're either stellar cigars for me or great give-aways when I have friends over.

Honestly we split after Priest...to me they close the show...I like Purple and would have enjoyed the Perfect Strangers stuff but Im getting old and the thought of being in bed by 11pm was nice...agreed Halford was amazing..
Bsonwine Posted October 5, 2018 Posted October 5, 2018 How does one order Johnny-os. Maybe someone could pm with advice. Thanks.
Wilzc Posted October 6, 2018 Posted October 6, 2018 Are the Majestousos due for a release? Why would EL suddenly have them? The asking price is... really really something Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
multi-useless Posted October 6, 2018 Posted October 6, 2018 @mbflash80 - how do you find the EL compares to the WF? I had a Johnny O once (not sure which one) that absolutely blew my mind, bought some WF and while all my friends say they're amazing, for some reason I just couldn't get into them

As for the EL line I can only say that they are some of the best cigars I have...i think i have every release of this line or close to it...the only ones that have been a little hit and miss are the Genios..some have been amazing...others just bland...otherwise to me they offer the best value on the market...i keep on buying them FWIW 1 1
mk05 Posted October 6, 2018 Posted October 6, 2018 As long as you enjoy, that is the most important thing. 2 1

JohnnyO Posted October 26, 2018 Posted October 26, 2018 Checkout some reviews Kingantz has done at Cigarpass over the years on the WF cigars. Lots of nice pics as well. John 2
earthson Posted October 26, 2018 Posted October 26, 2018 I have found the WF need a couple years to open up. Versus when they're in their sick period, it's really night and day. Sure it's valuable real estate in my cooler, but once they're ready, I'm always glad I dedicated the space and time. Very few duds, even during the 2014-2016 years when good tobacco was a little scarce. 1
