mike74 Posted September 18, 2018 Posted September 18, 2018 I've got a load of Boveda 62s in my humidors and tupperdors, but for the last few weeks they've really struggled to keep the humidity down. Any wisdom greatly appreciated!
TBird55 Posted September 18, 2018 Posted September 18, 2018 It's been so hot and humid here, that I am having to pay a lot more attention to my humidor's humidity. Keep the house cool, but it is still a struggle sometimes....

If it’s a winedor or cabinet have you added or removed boxes recently? A sudden drop in temp could certainly be the cause. Remember, relative humidity is the ratio of how much water vapor is in the air to how much the air can actually hold, which increases as temp goes up. So if temperature goes down, the amount of water vapor that the air can hold goes down as well, which means that amount needed to maintain 62% will need to go down as well. If the temp suddenly drops, the excess water vapor will probably take a bit to dissipate. 1
Colt45 Posted September 18, 2018 Posted September 18, 2018 The packs have water in them. I you're trying to reduce humidity, remove the packs and add unmoistened desiccant - plenty of beads, as JP mentioned.
