El Presidente Posted March 16, 2018 Posted March 16, 2018 My good mate Jose Candia gifted me this watch when I was in Havana at Christmas. It is a converted pocket watch by the Havana watchmakers Cuervo y Sobrino circa 1940 It was a common pocket watch using a standard and inexpensive Roskopf pin lever escapement. I picked it up this morning from my watchmaker after having it serviced. It is running like a dream When you are in the markets in Havana you will come across them from time to time. If you have access to an good and relatively inexpensive watchmaker to service it, pick one up. I will need to get a nice strap made. With period pieces such as this I get transformed back to 1940's Cuba. Take a look at the video below. 1
