Escaping the icebox

Dana and I couldn't take the icebox any longer. Hooked up the beach rig and headed to Corpus Christi Texas for a couple of months.

We will spend the days on the beach fishing and drinking Lonestar (Texas Beer) and evenings watching the sun go do with a smoke and a Negroni.

If anyone is down this way look us up for a smoke. We are right on the beach by Packery Channel.

The dreaded beach ray. Only the catfish is a bigger pest to good surf fishing. Have fun and I hope you catch some good ones.

Funny you said that. All I could catch all day was Hardheads (Saltwater Catfish). As we were cleaning up to head in I got one last bite and I told Dana to real in the last Hardhead and to our surprise it was the Ray.

That water color and wave pattern do not look conducive to food fish. Should be some whiting around though. Fresh fried whiting is wonderful.

That sounds really nice. I've spent a lot of time in that area when I lived in Texas. Wish I was close now and would bring some good cigars, and take you up on that Lonestar offer. Tight Lines...

I  mean.....it has only been 2 weeks since your last one......and you really needed that one as Havana at Christmas was hectic .....but then so was Oz in November
