I recommend one of these. It's my winter smoking best friend. Was so hot tonight I had to back up a few feet.

Might be a problem in my garage.....lol

I found that putting kids foam locking floor squares (the multi-colour ones)down help remove the cold garage floor.

I purchased a portable pop up ice fishing shelter and put it up in my garage when I want to have a cigar in the Canadian winter. My friends and neighbours laugh at me. They ask me if I caught anything yet.....but I don't care I am warm!  I can get it up to 68-70 in it. With the radiant heat, it heats the fabric inside and those mats help a lot.

I have also made a makeshift shelter using my kids hockey net and put tarps over it and sat inside. Hell he can even shoot while I am in it because he can't hit the net. (I kid)

I use either a little buddy propane heater or a infrared little furnace I got at factory direct for 60 bucks for heat source.

I am selling my ice fishing hut  and I am now using one of those beach umbrella/shelters you can lay on its side. My next step will be to attach a SOL Emergency Shelter blanket with the reflective material to the inside.  Should work just as well.

Just ordered one tonight for my screened in porch.  2 sides are open,  but i think this will work well where my smoking seat is.

I wasn't happy with the results using the Heat Dish on a 3 side open patio.  It's only about 5,500 btu on high.

I just got this Big Buddy 18,000 btu propane heater in this week and an trying it out tonight.  Temp should be around 40F when I use it...

Nice.  I like the propane tank idea.   Let us know how this puppy does.

I bought a smaller but similar propane heater model to the one shown above. Was about $70 on Amazon, plus a $20 hose to connect to the propane tank.

It works very well for my needs. I’m living in a condo in Atlanta right now, so no garage or man cave available. I take this out on the back deck and it works pretty well.

You got the Little Buddy.........LOL..............the difference is the Big Buddy has 2 heat panels - so it's 18,000 btu versus 9,000 btu.

Agree - the bigger the space the more btu.  For the $98 I went with the Big Boy.  Plus the quick connect hose another $40....

I took a second look at my purchase after checking out the link provided. I like the double heat panels vs. the single panel, but not enough to justify the $53 price difference (landed cost in both scenarios, including shipping on both). I'm still within my Amazon return window, and I definitely thought about it.

I've only used the heater on low settings (vs. high) so far in this mild Atlanta winter, but I can see how the double panel unit would be useful in Long Island, for sure.

Used the Big Boy last night without the built in blower feature...I think it was 38 degrees....nice & toasty.

Definitely a tremendous improvement over the dish.

The dish is getting returned to Costco...with their easy returns policy...

Thanks for the tip on the dish! Showed up yesterday, breaking it in with a fonseca#1 from our host. So far so good.

I have an older version of the Mr Heater. Would you mind sharing the link to the hose you use for a propane tank?

Just bought this from Wal Mart for $119.00 so very good price. Heat dish not quite warming enough in 2 car garage when temps outside are in teens and 20's. This should do the deal.

Installed this a few weeks back to my garage ceiling, quite nice out there with a little foot heater going too.

I just bought that same model and have used it about a half dozen times, with much success. I originally had the smaller model but returned it to get this one instead. It’s a solid performer and I’ll be using it this weekend. Cold weather is coming my way. Good purchase. Enjoy!
