Back from OZ

Got back Saturday November 4th and just took a couple of days to shake the jet lag. Flights out and back went off with out a hitch. My US friends keep asking if the how bad the long flight is. To me it's not bad, just relaxing, kind of like a Saturday at home, you drink a little, read a little, sleep a little and watch a couple of movies. No problem.

They say Australia is a beautiful land and it is, but the beauty of the land does not compare to the beauty of the people. Not just the old friends we caught up with and the new friends we made, but each and every individual we came across was remarkable in their kindness and good spirit.

I hate to start naming names because I'd hate to leave anyone out, but a special thanks to Ken for inviting us out to his iconic deck and his graciousness as a host. He's a great gentleman has a new fan in Dana as he kept her full of spectacular wine.

To Stan,Rob C,Glen ( and his BIL Ion) for babysitting us when Rob and Di were busy getting ready for Havanathon.

 Thanks John for the SLR. I'll give you a report once I've smoked it. Fuzz for the awesome bottle of wine...The best we had the whole trip.

To Lisa and the whole FOH crew for making us part of the Family.

To all the old friends and new who made us feel special. To many to mention.

Of course especially to Rob and Di for going way out of their way to show us a great time . What an awesome time we had and a deepening of our friendship. These are two truly special people!

I won't say much about Havanathon as it has already been covered. But to be lucky enough to attend and also hang out on Robs deck was a dream come true.

We spent the first 5 days in Brissy and the last 5 in Kingscliff right on the beach, fishing,laughing,drinking,eating,laughing, smoking,relaxing, laughing

and besides those things having a brilliant time.

I will post picks in a different thread.

We battled and landed a mighty flathead.  It was a close run thing. At one point consideration was given to putting down the beer and cigar.

I am glad you and Dana made it home safely! You both are a pleasure to travel and spend time with. Di and I  look forward to catching up in Havana come December
