PatrickEwing Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 My initial knowledge of Mr. Tang came via this forum, by then I began to see his name frequently elsewhere. A sad story, but an admirable manner in which to face the end. He certainly has lived life. http://www.atimes.com/article/long-mr-shanghai-tang/
El Presidente Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 Unbelievable love of life and passion combined with a commitment to detail that only one in a million have. It apparently extends to the planning for his passing. No regrets. 1
99call Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 Sobering news. I've got great admiration for those who manage to not let their wealth turn them in to disgusting people. He seems like such a lovely bloke, and the true gent.
luvdunhill Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 The China Club in HK is fantastic spot to eat and enjoy a cigar, and check out the eclectic art. Very sobering news indeed.
Habana Mike Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 While I haven't received my invite to the soiree as yet I'll plan to smoke my last Tang Monarch on his passing. Knowing of the man it may be longer than expected before that occurs....
OZCUBAN Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 What a shame ,but what a life lived .and the idea of a big soirée before you go is a brilliant idea apart from his other interests his life and influence in the Cigar fraternity will be sorely missed. make sure you have a great party and gods speed
Rustyman Posted August 21, 2017 Posted August 21, 2017 My kind of guy. Going out the way he chooses. We are all going to die, if you know the likely time of going, it makes sense to choose your way of going.
Puros Y Vino Posted August 21, 2017 Posted August 21, 2017 Sad, but a great way to approach the end. Better to spend your last days with the people you care for and admire vs them having to spend it together when you're gone. I'm sure Mr Tang will enjoy some glorious smokes on his way out.
